In 1 Samuel 3:8, we witness young Samuel experiencing something similar, as God persistently calls him to embark on a divine journey. This verse captures a pivotal moment in Samuel’s life, where the unseen becomes seen, and the unheard becomes heard.

    Historical Context

The book of 1 Samuel was written by the prophet Samuel, along with contributions from the prophets Nathan and Gad. It covers the period of the late 11th century BCE in Israel, a time of transition from theocracy to monarchy. This particular verse is set in the temple at Shiloh, where young Samuel served under the priest Eli. God was about to do something new in Israel, and Samuel was chosen as the prophet to lead the people into this new era.
