    The Verse

King James Version (KJV): And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

New International Version (NIV): “It’s all right,” he said. “Don’t be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks; I received your silver.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.

English Standard Version (ESV): He replied, “Peace to you, do not be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has put treasure in your sacks for you. I received your money.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.

    Introduction

Genesis 43:23 provides a powerful moment of reassurance in the midst of uncertainty. When Joseph’s brothers find unexpected treasure in their sacks, they are filled with fear and confusion. Yet, the steward’s words bring calming peace and assurance, reminding them—and us—of God’s providence and care.

In our own lives, we often encounter situations that seem baffling or even threatening. This verse invites us to trust in God’s unseen hand, encouraging us to replace fear with faith.

    Historical Context
