    Introduction

In the midst of political turmoil and spiritual decline, the people of Judah faced numerous challenges. The verse in 2 Chronicles 28:18 highlights a period of vulnerability for Judah as they dealt with invasions from neighboring Philistines. This historical account doesn’t just recount past events, but also serves as a metaphor for the spiritual battles we face today. How do we respond when adversaries invade our lives and take hold of our ‘cities’?

    Historical Context

2 Chronicles was written to record the history of Judah and Israel, penned by the Chronicler centuries after the events took place. Chapter 28 focuses on the reign of King Ahaz, a ruler noted for his lack of faithfulness to God.
